Petunia

Petunia is an annual flower, with its funnel-shaped flower captivating breeders with twisted, waved petals and doubled variants. Color ranges from pink to purple, lavender, violet, peach, white and even yellow.

Seedling Stage

  • Germination: Emergence 4-7 days / 72-76°F (Leave seed uncovered. Soil must be near saturation for good germination. Once emergence has occurred lower both temperature (65-68°F) & moisture content)

Finishing

  • Transplant: 20 -35 days after sowing
  • Days to Flower After Sowing: 65 -75 days
  • Temperature: 60 – 70°F day / 55 – 60°F night EC: 1.2 – 2.0 mS/cm (pour thru method)
  • pH: 5.5 – 6.2 Common
  • Disease/ Pest: Botrytis, mildew / Thrips, aphids, leaf rollers

Note:

  • Plants require day length of 11 hours minimum to induce flowering.
  • Short internodes when compared to other multi-flora-type Petunias.
  • Cold growing will keep plants compact but will also delay flower initiation.
